She has been to a place
I’ve only to read about.
She has felt a touch
I hope never to feel.
She has seen in her dreams
a nightmare unknown to me.
So far from my day to day
yet to her all too real.
More like strangers than friends
yet connected so deeply.
She entered my life
and she helped me to deal.
Never wanting her pain,
I’d still take it all away.
Freeing her of her past
so now too she can heal.
